It’s a new year, and that means it’s time to get ready for a whole new crop of superhero movies to fill our screens. One of the most anticipated is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, opening March 25. With just over two months to go, director Zack Snyder has just released the film’s first 30 second TV spot.
The spot gives us two things we have either seen or heard before: The stare-down between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight, and Batman’s dialogue “Tell me, do you bleed? You will.” Now we have some context for both.
Quite a bit can happen in just half a minute. The clip opens with Superman looking on as the Batmobile is racing towards him. As the car starts to sideswipe into him, Superman does what he always does in this situation: just stand there, because he’s Superman. The Batmobile bounces off him and crashes into an old building, which leads to the glare-off.
I like the look Superman gives him after he asks the question. It’s a combination of “Really, dude?” and “This guy isn’t kidding around, is he?” I wonder if this is another spoiler, revealing that the whole feud between the two was the result of a fender bender. Affleck already made Changing Lanes!
Batman v Superman stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot. You can also check out our breakdown of the original trailer down below.
