Your Inspirational Moments For Today

If Nerdist stands for anything (besides the love and celebration of what we call Nerd Culture), it’s inspiration. You hear it in the Nerdist Podcast, when Chris and Jonah prod Matt to get moving on his comedy career. You’ll read it in Chris’ book. You’ll see it at the Node (beta, yeah, I know). Not to get all self-helpy on you, but if something we do or say or write helps you move in the direction of where you want to go in life, whether it’s losing weight or writing a novel, we’ll be happy.

In that regard, here’s a little video brought to my attention by a Colin Hanks tweet. Having trouble learning to ride a bike? You can do it! Just listen to this budding Tony Robbins, who advises you that “if you believe in yourself, you can ride a bike.” Wish I knew that when I struggled to not fall off my metallic green Schwinn Sting-Ray when I was that age:

“Thumbs up, everybody! For Rock and Roll!” Yes.

And then there’s this animated homage to art in general and Jackson Pollock in particular, by Leo Verrier. If you haven’t seen it yet, and you have even a passing interest in art, just watch it now:

You don’t have to actually eat paintings to be inspired by them. At least, I don’t think you do. I’ve never tried it, myself.

Now, go do great things. Maybe paint while biking. Thumbs up, everybody!

It’s gonna be a tragedy when some gradeschool heart-breaker utterly destroys that kids confidence. Ride on my friend, ride on!

love the video of that little kid!!! saw it on aots last night and was going to go look for it on youtube, but here it is! That other video was really cool, too. Reminded me of old Disney cartoons when they would take a journey through music or something like that.
Thank you for the inspirational words/this post, Perry. I know I’ve been inspired by the podcast and by fellow Nodies to create some artwork and think of some new ideas to try out in the future. I started listening to the podcast while I inked and colored comics/books, and besides being hilarious, it’s great to listen to them talk about taking steps to do what you want to do while trying to do that very thing 🙂

I’m not sure if it’s the same thing, but there’s a place called inspiration point up in the hills near me, where I sometimes ride my bike and there are some inspire-tacular views and nice trees and an occasional mountain lion or deer.

Also that little kid is the best person in the world.

Was literally just looking for some inspirational videos. Thank you Nerdist for continuing to read my mind, even though it does scare me how on point you always are…

That kid will be the greatest motivational speaker of his generation.
