Your Favorite Movie Posters Have Been Remade With Emojis

Sometimes, words can adequately express what we want them to, like if you’re trying to tell somebody that their hair is on fire. But if they don’t believe you, then words probably aren’t enough. Maybe you take a photo of their flaming scalp and perhaps that will convince them. If for some bizarre reason that doesn’t work, text them the flame emoji, and they’ll either think you’re trying to get them to listen to your fire mixtape again, or they’ll realize there is some burning they should probably address.

The nerve endings on their head are probably doing most of the talking at that juncture, but the point is that emojis are powerful, and only becoming more powerful by the day. The tale of Tangled has been told entirely on the medium. They’ve infiltrated our mouths and become cookies. A single emoji can even be used to order Dominos. I’m sure you’ve figured out which specific emoji we mean (not the eggplant, creep).

Now, they’ve infiltrated our movie posters, thanks to the Emoji Films blog. Check out a gallery of a few their favorite creations below, which recreate famous movie posters exclusively with emojis… and typography and background colors. Be sure to check out the rest of what they’ve created over at their website. We’re going to go ahead and forgive them for cheating on the Orange is the New Black poster: We all know the dancing woman emoji sports a red dress.
