Your Adorable, Fuzzy, Cross-Eyed Meme Of The Day

Meet the newest Internet celebrity:

It’s Heidi, the cross-eyed possum, a resident of the Leipzig Zoo in Germany and at last check, she has 21.640 Facebook fans.

Why? SHE’S A CROSS-EYED POSSUM. What else does anyone need to know?

Heidi’s Facebook posts so far have included compelling content lke “What is your favorite food guys :D” and “What you guys doin now?” and the urgent “Hi Guys :D.” Oh, wait, in the two minutes since I started typing this, she’s up to 21,655 fans. Wait, I’ll refresh the page… 21,672.

I do not, of course, have 22,000 “friends.” But I’m not an adorable fuzzy animal.

What is it about a simple picture of a cute animal that makes people go all mushy and happy and rushing to Facebook and sending pictures to all their friends? Why can’t we bottle that and use it for universal good?

I really don’t get it. Possums look like gigantic fucking rats. They’re disgusting.

In the meantime this thing is at 270,000 fans on FB.

It’s like Kylie from The Fantastic Mr. Fox. : D

  3. It’s so cute, yet so odd. I think I’ll send this to someone I know that had the nickname of possum, or not.
