You Made It Weird #9: Sarah Silverman

Oh man. This is a weird one. Pete asks Sarah Silverman if she “tells herself she’s a good person” and, I mean, that’s in like the first minute. What more weirdness do you want?! How about Sarah talking about losing her virginity. That’s in under the four minute mark. Or new euphemisms for masturbation. Pete also overshares his virginity story and calls the Old Testament “your half of the Bible.” God, this is a weird one. This is also the first ep where Pete shares a track from the lost “UCB Tapes,” never-before-heard standup recordings from NYC.

  2. rymo76 says:

Pete, I’m a new weirdo, but I’ve binge-listened for two days, cherry picking my favorite guests. I’ve enjoyed every minute, but the first thing that prompted me to comment was that bit about the subway. That was rock solid.

  3. Peter Sanchez says:

    Dude I’m loving this podcast!!

  4. David says:

“Feels so good when the cold water hits your hot head” … Christ -I don’t think I’m going to make it through this one.

  5. Melanie says:

“I’m kind of like that with sex. The second I come I’m like ‘what was that all about? I was like a werewolf five seconds ago.. and now I’ve emptied my tank and I just want to sleep.”
    XDD

  6. Einalem says:

    She sounds so Stooooned.

  7. Mary Jane says:

This episode, to me, was the most insightful on the before and during life of a comedian. I agreed with so much of this conversation it was invigorating! You go Peter.

  8. Will says:

Alex is mostly right. The fish comes from the Greek words “Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter” roughly “Jesus Christ, son of God and savior.”

That phrase is then abbreviated as “I.CH.TH.Y.S” (Both Ch and Th sounds are single consonants in Greek) which is the Greek word for fish.

Hence, an easy an secretive way of showing Christian fellowship and support would be to scribe a fish in public

  9. Eric says:

This may be my new favorite podcast. Please release it three times a week.

  10. BelowZilch says:

I immediately had to look up that fact about the Seinfeld theme song on Google. Then I looked up where Tom Petty was from.

    Loving the show Pete!

  11. odin42 says:

Another fantastic episode. Super funny. I love your show, Pete.

  12. onReload says:

I remember that some news show did a (stupid) story on the Seinfeld music – it probably was, at some point, someone’s voice, but when they showed the composer for the show, he was using a keyboard for all of it.

So…yes it’s someone’s voice but no it is not.

    Halfway through – great episode!

  13. Keith says:

Wow, when they were talking about “Chelsea” I was momentarily aghast that Holmes and Silverman were chummy with Chelsea Handler. Thank God for another Chelsea (Peretti)!

  14. Kati says:

Deee-lightful podcast! From someone who is also very relationship prone with a Christian background ( even though I’m more on the agnostic side now), this is now becoming one of my favorite podcasts to listen to.
Pete Holmes, you are awesomely funny and fun to listen to!
Definitely looking forward to more. 🙂

Hitlers wasn’t jewish, thats a myth. Hitler hated the jews because they wouldn’t buy his art

  16. Alex Jensen says:

The fish is because it was an acronym for some shit back in some language and they could draw the fish to not get persecuted

  17. Alex Jensen says:

    Whats up hotdog!
