You Made It Weird #40: Patrick Walsh

Patrick Walsh (Writer! Friend! Talking chicken!) is one of the funniest people Pete has ever known in his life. They wrote on Outsourced together where they came up with a bevy of personal jokes that crack them up to this day, many of which are shared in this ep. They also discuss his coming up and becoming a writer on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Two Broke Girls as well as some of the funniest personal stories I think a weirdo would ever want to hear. Get into it, you weirdos!

  1. Brian says:

I loved The Pete Holmes Show and have been slowly working my way through this amazing podcast since the show ended. I haven’t commented yet but just had to say that I just had to pause this and go to empty my bladder because Daddy Can’t Get a Piece of French Toast at 40ish minutes in had me nearing pants pissing levels of laughter.

  2. This has been a great episode so far. I have a similar story to the Tiajuana one. Should I share?

  3. Kevin Craven says:

    Wow!! That was hilarious!!

Thank you for the Tiajuana story!

  4. laura says:

There’s not nary one piece of french toast for daddy?

I love the sharing of crumbling relationships and the chicken is absolute best!

  5. Kim says:

Oh my gosh Pete, I’ve listened to this episode about 4 times and it always cheers me up and has me laughing my ass off 🙂 Thank you. This episode for me is like your chicken T-shirt, a little reminder to laugh!

  6. Chris Gerber says:

Singing “Nice little chunk of chaaaange” when I opened my paycheck totally made up for the fact that it certainly wasn’t. I hope you and Patrick Walsh keep it super weird for many years. Can’t wait to see you perform in NJ in July!

  7. Mickylove76 says:

I have not laughed so hard in years! I was washing up and had to crouch on the floor . the Tijuana story is something that cannot be retold, you have to hear it for yourself.

  8. highwyre237 says:

Amazing episode, I need some more funny friends, dont laugh that hard often enough

  9. Chris Bell says:

This was fantastic. I moved to New York from Kansas City. It only made Patrick’s stories that much better. Oh, and the Chicken should be the show’s first shirt.

  10. bob says:

ok, so…I listen to podcasts on “fast speed”, which is about 20% sped up. This pitches the voices up a litlte, and it makes the Chicken voice sound *exactly* like Bryant Gumbel.

Please, please: start a podcast (maybe just 2-3 episodes) with you two. Trading stories, riffing, and yes: Chicken/ Larry needs to come back.

Sorry to hear Michael Loftus can’t get any French Toast. Maybe his next wife will be more considerate…

  11. Sporin says:

This ep is pure comedy gold, and I’m only listened as far as the TJ story so far

That chicken really is a gift.

  12. Christian says:

    Feelin it.

  13. Ben says:

We need a full recording of the Chicken “We are the World” bit. Great episode.

    NOT FEELIN’ IT!

  14. Jennifer says:

    Nice Pulp reference!

  15. Manfred Yon says:

Hey, Webster University’s alumni includes former Indonesian chief of police Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. He’s police, and middle name sounds like Bang Bang! Nice little chunk of Trivia.

  16. Tolly says:

    Dear sirs,
Chicken & Larry are a genius stroke, or a gift from the cosmos: you choose. Please do a weird one shot podcast of the two of you doing a full session as Chicken & Larry. It really is a great bit you two came up with, and I can see using it as a tool, as you suggested. Might turn into a “Nice Little Chunk Of Chaaange.”

  17. Man Wall says:

Great ep, I love anyone in any way associated with Always Sunny. Otherwise though, Not feeling it!

  18. Ben Biz says:

Most laugh out loud moments ever. this podcast is pure joy

  19. The Bradical says:

    Best. Episode. Yet.

  20. Peter says:

Never laughed harder at a podcast. The Holmes/Walsh chemistry is something else.

  21. Julia Hays says:

Can’t wait to get in trouble at work for singing “NOT FEELIN’ IT!” when I’m forced to sit through a long meeting.

    This episode was hilarious!

  22. ThyHoopyFrood says:

I would buy so many “Not feelin; it!” chicken shirts.

  23. Ferreira says:

This was fantastic. Your right about the chicken voice “Not feeling it” bringing a smile to a bad situation. It is engraved in my mind now forever. Always good for a laugh. Thank you!

  24. Phil says:

I want a “Not Feeling It” t-shirt so bad now

  25. Josh says:

I am only 35 minutes in and have never laughed so hard in my life. i’m only at Larry the one hit wonder singing chicken. Funniest thing i have ever heard in my life!

  26. Julia Perry says:

Pete! Great episode, Man. Laugh-crying all the way to work.
You give me tears of Joy!

  27. Bryan says:

The French Toast Guy sounds like Paul Giamatti.

  28. Vee says:

Just wanted to let you guys know that I loved Outsourced, and thought it was a fun, clever, and visually lovely show!

Also, the main character on that show strongly reminds me of the main character on Ugly Americans. Coincidence? Probably only in my brain.

  29. Gene says:

    Great episode. NOT FEELIN’ IT!

  30. Brandon says:

was there a f**king Pulp reference in this??? This is such a great podcast.

  31. jimjim says:

great episode Pete! i laughed my ass off. Patrick had some amazing stories. Thanks for sharing!

  32. Roman says:

Hilarious show. Was at my desk at work crying, and literally had to leave and take a walk to get the laugh out of me after the Tijuana story.

    I’m not feeling it!
