  1. Marina says:

Have to say Pete(s), this is my all time favourite ep so far that I go back to again and again.  ‘Jesus Dick Butter’ is high on the current rotation of sayings too. Cheers.

  2. Nikolay says:

This episode blew my mind in so many ways… and I haven’t even finished it yet! I learned a lot, and I will definitely be checking out more of Peter Rollins’ material.

  3. Sarah says:

Also, Peter quoting Mulaney’s bit about being Irish and just suppressing everything until you die, was quite funny, as neither of them could identify who it was who said it.

  4. Sarah says:

Something interesting regarding the discussion of happiness:
Deepak Chopra: “Happiness that is contingent on something is another type of misery.”
CS Lewis: “Do not let your happiness depend on something you may lose.”

Two men with very different ideals, coming to basically the same conclusion. Happiness has to be a choice, regardless of circumstance.

  5. Susan says:

I loved this so much, I’m going to listen again.  Pete is one of my favorite people (that I know in a completely superficial way), and it was great to hear your two together.

  6. What a great episode Pete. Here’s where I sat up and thought, “This guy’s got it going on.”

Pete Holmes: “Why are we here? What’s the meaning of life?”

Peter Rollins” “That’s above my pay grade.”

Finally an honest response! Thanks for continuing to bring on guests I have never heard of who make me scratch my head and play the podcast a second time.

  7. kenaldo says:

Moving buddy.   Top 5 for sure.  Thanks.

  8. Daniel R says:

Whenever Pete moves away from his bread and butter (comedians) and has on artists, musicians, scientists, etc, the episode is often weaker.  With some notable exceptions of course.  But holy crap was this one awesome!  I feel like someone unloaded a truck full of knowledge on me

  9. Adam says:

    Thank you for this, Petes.

  10. Josh says:

Wow. What a great conversation! I don’t normally love the FORBS episodes as much as the typical irreverent YMIWs that come out, but this was a great conversation. I’m going to have to listen to this a few times just to make sure I catch everything the dueling Petes say! Personally, I love the idea of a Utilitarianism that values inspiration more than happiness. Great stuff. Also, there are some wonderful young religious institutions that have begun to define spirituality as the way in which anyone connects to concepts larger than themselves — be it God, art, people hood, science, community, social action, nature, music, academic pursuits, etc… From my faith, as an example, check these guys out: http://www.JCoSD.com … Crispy ep as usual Pete!

  11. Jess Nielsen says:

You’re the Oprah of the podcast world!

  12. Kristen says:

Your podcast is my new church. I wish that your podcast was a place I could go every week where I walk in and congregate with a bunch of folks, shake hands, sing songs, and then sit down and listen to you shoot the breeze with people.  Coffee and donuts after.  Or an impromptu group trip to the Golden Corral.

  13. anony says:

Another incredible episode!  Pete and his guests are on a roll!

  14. Nick says:

Jesus dick butter, this is one of my all time favorite episodes.

  15. Another excellent podcast, Pete!

  16. Corbin VanderZalm says:

    praise

  17. Arlo says:

Thanks for such a great episode.

  18. Stathe says:

    Jesus dick butter…

  19. Bark says:

Good old Richard-Stephen Hawkins 😉 This one really hit home for me, especially the parts about group separation as a defense mechanism and why you should expose your anxieties to pursue truth and happiness. A little depressing to listen to in a cubicle, but nothing a little bike ride can’t help.

  20. Estaban says:

Bano es en la casa de puntas, cervasa por favor!
