You Don’t Need a Cheese Ball Machine Gun, but You Will Want One

“If you need to ask why anyone would want a cheese ball machine gun you should probably turn back now.”

Yeah. This guy gets us.

Because obviously no one needs a cheese ball machine gun, but that has nothing to do with how much we want one. (Which, considering we didn’t even know it existed before we saw this video, we want one a lot.) And thanks to this video explaining how to make your own, none of us have to continue living a meaningless life devoid of cheese ball firing technology any more.

Made by YouTube user NightHawkInLight, this device doesn’t require you to own a gun, because it uses a powerful electric leaf blower (“the more airflow the better”), some PVC piping, and a giant, over-sized tub of cheese balls.

While this might look as simple as boring some holes and piecing it all together with some adhesive, it requires some real engineering and understanding of fluid dynamics. He explained the design behind this in detail, but the short of it is that he inserted a small ramp in the pipe to prevent air from moving up into the bin, making sure the blower pushes the air–and therefore the cheese balls–out at full force.

He even inserted an “agitator” (a stiff wire) on the back, to make sure the cheese balls don’t jam and continue to feed properly into the barrel of the “gun.”

We don’t know when one of these will come in handy, but it’s always best to be prepared. Because while a cheese ball machine gun might not seem useful today, who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Besides a yard full of cheese balls.

What will you do with yours after you make it? Fire up your best ideas in the comments below.
