Once you power through an almost frightening degree of chaosâthe likes of which involves bunny suits, live alpacas, misbehaving children, incompetent crewmen, wayfaring boom mics, misplaced decimals, and an increasingly infuriated Robert Downey Jr.âyou’ll eventually get to the actual point of Omaze’s above video: charity. Though the clip would not have you believe that Iron Man star has either the patience nor the sanity for such an endeavor, Downey and his wife Susan have set up an organization called Random Acts Funding, devoted to aiding a number of worthy causes. One of which: your desire to see Captain America: Civil War before the rest of the world. (Yes, Random Act Funding is also sponsoring actual good causes, like the Make a Wish Foundation and the Anti-Recidivism Coalition.)
By donating at least $10, you’ll be entered to win what any Robert Downey Jr. fan would consider the triple-whammy: tickets to a private screening of Captain America: Civil War in New York City, studio audience seats for a live taping of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (on which Downey will be the featured guest), andâhere’s the kickerâpizza. Downey keeps the last point fairly vague, but promises that he and the winner will “share one of [his] favorite New York pizza pies.”
(As is compulsory for any lifelong New Yorker, I must here interject with the avowal that Amore on Stratton St. in Flushing, Queens is the premiere New York pizza establishment, and that whatever high society, Michelin-starred bistro Downey takes you to won’t hold a candle. But you should still probably enter. You know, for charity.)
Naturally, travel and board are all included in the package. On top of a luxury weekend, you’ll get the bonus of being able to lord spoilers over your friends until Captain America: Civil War‘s release on May 6. All in all, a pretty substantial victory. Will you be entering? Let us know, and don’t miss our breakdown of the latest Captain America: Civil War trailer:
