Xbox players rejoice! A beta for Bungie’s highly anticipated shooter Destiny is coming to Microsoft systems. The downside is, we don’t get an exact date.
It’s been known that the Destiny beta will land on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms on July 17 as part of their “exclusively first” deal, but gamers were unsure if the game’s beta would make its way to Xbox systems.
Thanks to the keen observation of VideoGamer, they’ve spotted a trailer on the Xbox One dashboard that reveals the beta will arrive in “late July.” Whether that means a week after the PlayStation betas begin or even two weeks later on July 31st is still up in the air. The full game releases in September so I can’t imagine it releasing much later.
There’s not much we know about what gamers will get to do in the beta or how long it’ll last or even if some progress will make its way to the full release, but we have high hopes for the title as our very own Malik Forte detailed during his hands-on time with the game during E3.
Destiny launches September 9 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4.

Will XBOX players even care…they already have HALO. How many Master Chiefs do they need anyway? ooohhhh…it controls my Cable Box…but has crap for frame rate and resolution so lets reduce force Ubisoft to lower the graphics on Watch Dogs because the PS4 is better and we need to level the playing field. Oooooh, and we want Destiny too…so we can have Halo and Halo-like game binge and purges. Is this too Troll-like? Meh!
im kinda glad that sony is getting a piece of the bungie cake or pie, even though i prefer the xbox
good at this point in bungies career path and activisions backing putting exclusives is kinda bad if you want to have an equal amount of consumers behind both consoles. if a beta or dlc comes later for the xbox platform its just going to jade the xbox owners. and at this point why alienate potential consumer spending for your game.
