Xbox Originals Programming Launches in June With Bonnaroo App

This morning, Microsoft rolled out more details about its Xbox Originals program, which sees the publisher joining Amazon and Netflix in creating its own lineup of digital programming. And yes, Halo is on the way.

Specifically, we’re talking about the Ridley Scott-produced feature Armi wrote up earlier this month. However, that will probably be beaten to the screen by the Steven Spielberg-produced TV series based on the sci-fi shooter.

In the near future, though, Microsoft hopes you’ll come for their unscripted programming, including their Bonnaroo coverage the weekend of June 13th. You’ll have to use a standalone app to access the Bonnaroo content, which will include performances from the three-day festival. June also sees the premiere of Every Street United, an eight-episode unscripted drama following several famous soccer players. The six-part documentary series rounds out the programming currently coming to Xbox Originals in 2014.

However, going forward, Micrsoft has some interesting things on the way including the sci-fi drama Humans, an adaptation of Warren Ellis’ novel Gun Machine, the stop-motion series Extraordinary Believers, the supernatural Western Deadlands, and the post-apocalyptic dramaWinterworld.

who cares about that? What about them putting out digital gaming content one xbox one to rival the arcade? Definitely made an early adopter mistake with my Day One Xbox one and getting rid of my 360 thinking they’d have their digital content ready for the xbox one. Going to trade the Xbox in for a PS4 because, yeah its not a TV device (yet) but I think i need to unload my Xbox One before it becomes the next sega dreamcast
