X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Super Bowl Spot

Today being the day that ad time is at its most expensive, we’ve sure been treated to a few short and oh-so-sweet TV spots for some of the year’s most anticipated movies. In what might be one of the shortest ads so far for Super Bowl 50, the X-men: Apocalypse trailer gives us everything we need to be excited for its release this May.

So many quick cuts in this trailer it’s hard to keep track of every bit of awesomeness in it. Opening with a shot of – we’re assuming – every single missile being launched is ominous enough for the undoubtedly high stakes the movie will present. It’s peppered with a few shots of some very worrying looks from Mystique (in her Jennifer Lawrence form) and Magneto (in his more ruggedly handsome than anyone could ever hope to be form) along with battle-ready newcomers Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan).

The trailer is set to a version of Coldplay’s “Beautiful World” which perfectly mirrors the destruction we see. Interestingly enough, we see a heart-wrenching few frames of a bloodied Magneto. It makes us wonder if his eventual service to Apocalypse is caused by a great deal of pain. xmenmag020716

But let’s get to what makes this trailer completely bad-ass in its just 30 short seconds: Olivia Munn‘s Psylocke cutting a car in half with her psi-blade whilst flipping! As if we needed more reason’s to love Olivia Munn. Psylocke1020716 Psylocke2020716

The psi-blade also appears to be more realistic (if that’s the word for it) than most of its comic book forms with a handle and hilt more akin to an actual sword.

The month of May cannot get here soon enough! Let us know what you think of the new trailer in the comments below!
