New THE X-FILES Clip Introduces Agents Miller and Einstein

The current six-episode run of The X-Files has forced FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) to reexamine their life choices and their belief systems. They may be older and more experienced, but happiness and definitive answers still elude them. However, in next week’s episode, Mulder and Scully will be visited by two agents who appear to be doppelgangers of their younger selves.

“Babylon” will mark the first appearances of Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) as Agent Einstein and Robbie Amell (The Flash) as Agent Miller, a duo whose physical appearance and general worldview serve as uncanny reflections of Mulder and Scully. It’s almost as if Miller and Einstein are the personification of network notes to introduce younger and hotter versions of the veteran agents.

In the above preview scene, a TVInsider exclusive from “Babylon,” Miller and Einstein are having a very Mulder and Scully-like conversation as Miller voices his admiration for Mulder’s work and Einstein expresses her exasperation and her pity for “poor agent Scully.” Einstein even has her own explanation about why Scully wasted her promising career with Mulder, (and it’s something that X-Files fans have been saying since 1993).

If you pay attention to the clip, you’ll notice it also contains some story details about the case that brings Miller and Einstein into the orbit of Mulder and Scully: A bomber has been seriously injured in his own blast, and Miller apparently consulted with a “necromancer” in an attempt to communicate with the comatose man.
