If you’re anything like me, you’re watching the World Cup on your second monitor when you should be writing this Nerdist News WTFridays po—are you serious right now, ref? That was clearly a dive! Put that yellow card away. Sorry, as I was saying, World Cup Fever has taken hold across the world, but Japan has a secret weapon up its sleeve: a soccer-playing puppy named Purin. If that isn’t quite anthropomorphic enough for you, we gaze into the abyss that is Paddington Bear horror movie memes. Plus, the lads of One Direction try their hand at heavy metal. Seriously. And, if you’re really insistent on having a cherry on top of your WTFriday sundae, then you’ll be pleased to see the return of a fan favorite character. (HINT: It’s not Hologram Dan Casey).
