World’s Highest Basketball Shot is the Ultimate Swish

The needlessly talented team at YouTube channel How Ridiculous is at it again, dropping bombs from way on high like Poe Dameron and Co. across the bow of a First Order Dreadnought. This time around, the all-star bucket snipers have set a new Guinness World Record for highest basketball shot, ever.

The basketball shot heard ’round the world was made at Maletsunyane Falls in Lesotho, Africa. From finger tips to rim, the basketball soared — or fell, actually — an astounding 660 feet before swooshing gracefully through the net. What’s perhaps even more astounding is the amount of effort the shot required. The three rippin’, shootin’ Aussies had to spend a total of eight hours a day for six days attempting the world record shot, plus a dozen more hours hiking back and forth to the waterfall.

As far as the team’s sentiment regarding the shot, in a comment posted below the video, they noted that they were “so grateful to have the chance to go on such an epic adventure and set a ripper new world record,” adding that they “never dreamed that we’d accomplish anything like this when we started making trick shots back in 2009 in our backyards.” Although they probably had some idea that they were headed for this ultimate destiny after claiming the previous world record for highest basketball shot, which was made from the top of the Mauvoisin Dam in Switzerland.

What do you think about this new Guinness Book of World Records basketball shot? What would you like to see this mad Aussie crew shoot from next? Give us your thoughts in the comments below!
