WONDER WOMAN’s Gal Gadot, Chris Pine Tackle Some Role Reversals

Chris Pine and Gal Gadot are international treasures. If you didn’t believe that before, you will soon enough, as their chemistry rockets off the screen and lights up the sky in Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman film, subverting tropes and reversing roles with gleeful abandon the whole movie through. After all, this is a film about an indestructible woman—nay, literal goddess—with more power than any man on Earth. She loves and fights with love in order to keep those people safe from forces that would rather tear it asunder. Because of course Diana Prince was going to look at that old way of doing things and say, “nah.” So we got to thinking about other dynamic duos we’ve seen on screen in recent years and we couldn’t help but want to subvert some tropes some more, so we put Gal and Chris on the spot with a little game we’re calling Role Reversal.

It’s a fairly simple premise: tell us which part of this particularly iconic pair you would be should the opportunity arise and why and the two did not disappoint. From Star Wars to Bonnie and Clyde—and even a pineapple-living sponge—Gal and Chris were game to play along, and the resulting video is proof that these two are as dynamic as all get-out. (Even if Gal Gadot does not want to be Bob Sponge.) If our review wasn’t enough to convince of this film’s worthiness, surely this video will.
