Watch WONDER WOMAN’s Badassery Come to Life in Extended Featurette

What would it take to get you to believe you could save Man’s World from itself? To believe that you not only could possess the necessary power, but also the intelligence to wield it in a way that makes the world a better place? That’s the predicament Diana Prince, a.k.a. Wonder Woman, finds herself in during her first-ever solo big screen outing. And now we’ve got a new extended featurette to show us how director Patty Jenkins, and actors Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, made her story come to life.

In the 13-minute video (seen below), Jenkins, Gadot, Pine, and several producers walk us through how they landed on the tone of their origin story. It’s guaranteed to get you amped for the wild Themysciran ride all y’all are about to go on when the film hits theaters on June 2nd, 2017.

Perhaps our favorite part of the video is the discussion of Jenkins’ vision and tone—arguably the film’s biggest strength in defining itself against the far less-acclaimed works of DC Comics/Warner Bros.’ past few years. It all comes down to an inherent understanding of Wonder Woman’s motivations, and ensuring that—in spite of all the Superhero Cinema of recent days—this message of Diana’s was never lost.

After all, Wonder Woman isn’t like any other superhero we’ve seen thus far (the closest comparison is, maybe, Thor over at Marvel). She believes in being better than our baser instincts and using love to guide the way. And is there anything more necessary and refreshing than that?

Let us know how excited you are for Wonder Woman in the comments below!
