Win Tickets to See Insane Movie THE VISITOR in NYC

Possibly the battiest sounding and looking movie I’ve ever heard of is coming to cinema screens this week. Drafthouse Films‘ newly-acquired 1979 Italian mixture of Star Wars, The Omen, The Birds, and hippie alien people, The Visitor, was thought long lost before the Austin-based grindhouse distributor picked it up, dusted it off, and decided to let the world enjoy it.

The film stars legendary actor/director John Huston as an intergalactic warrior who battles alongside a falsely-blonde Christ figure, played by Franco Nero, to battle a demonic 8-year-old girl and her evil pet hawk for the fate of the universe. Lance Henricksen, Shelley Winters, and (inexplicably) tough-guy director Sam Peckinpah co-star in this truly bat-poop-crazy looking bit of cinema.

If you’re like me and want to see this so much it actually makes your skin hurt, and you live in the New York area, then you’ll definitely want to win a couple of tickets to see it at the IFC Center this Friday (November 8th) or this Saturday (November 9th). We’re giving away two sets of tickets per night. That means you’d get two and another person would get two. You get it.

All you have to do to be entered into this drawing is 1) live in or around the New York area. If you live in Iowa, we can’t get you to New York City, so that’d be up to you, 2) comment below with your favorite nutso cult classic, a valid email address, and your preferred night. We can’t guarantee you’ll get the night you want, but we’ll do our best.

That’s it! Go, enjoy The Visitor. Marvel in its audaciousness. And if you don’t live in New York City, no fear! Drafthouse Films is rolling out the film in many cities over the next few weeks, including Los Angeles, Austin, Denver, and Chicago. To see the complete list of cities and screenings, visit The Visitor page on their website.
