Last week, we had the privilege of hearing Will Smith’s new track “Fiesta,” and now the former Man In Black is saying there is more jiggy goodness where that came from. Smith has spent a lot of time in the recording studio lately, and has a whopping 30 unreleased tracks to share with the world! And to add to the excitement, he has plans for a full-on tour next summer.
In the interview above, Smith discusses his return to music with Zane Lowe from Beats 1.”I have so many things I want to say, and I’m struggling to say them in a way that fit the flavor of music I tend to like” Smith said. “I’m from the era where it’s 16 bars and hook, 16 bars and hook, bridge, hook, and out.” Somehow, I think he’ll be able to pull it off, don’t you? Smith also mentions that he’ll be working with some different collaborators on his new record, though remains tight-lipped on who they are. Something he did let slip, though, is that he’ll be touring alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff. The two worked together early in Smith’s career, so we’re excited to see them reunite and make heads turn again.
What do you think of his return to music –are you on board? Check out his latest track, “Fiesta”, below.
