Why You’re Going to Love SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE

Last week at E3, we got a chance to preview and play a ton of new games, from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham VR. But some of the most fun we had on the E3 show floor came from our pals in South Park, Colorado with the sequel to 2014’s South Park: The Stick of Truth, South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

The new Ubisoft game does away with the high fantasy RPG of yesteryear and goes straight for pop culture’s jugular, skewering superhero movies and tentpole franchises with the deviant glee we’ve come to expect from Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Our own Dan Casey dove into the new game and shared that the awesome RPG mechanics from the first game are not only back, they’ve been totally upgraded. You can choose from almost a dozen character classes this time around, and each class comes with its own set of unique moves. The combat is on a whole other level as well. Now, your characters have tactical positioning, massive range, and plenty of support. Plus, this is all about superheroes, so constructing your team is super important. You can now play with up to four different buddies.

If you’re a fan of South Park, you’ll absolutely love this game. Not only does it boast a veritable smorgasbord of Easter Eggs and show references, it has its own poop minigame! What more could you want?!

Make sure you check out Dan Casey’s breakdown of the game in our E3 Special Report above and don’t forget to fart on everything. (In the GAME, guys. In the game.)

South Park: The Fractured But Whole soars into stores December 6, 2016.
