Who Needs Love Potions When These HARRY POTTER Love Songs Are Pun-Filled Magic?

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who frequents Nerdist.com that we have an unhealthy love of puns and wordplay in general. Combine that with anything pop-culture related and you’ve got yourself something that we’ll obsess over for quite some time. YouTube’s VStheUniverse hit the mother lode of the pun mines when they created this commercial for a Harry Potter-themed love song album that we absolutely wish was real.

Love Songs of the Harry Potter Universe is, first and foremost, a parody of the old television commercials that advertised compilation or theme albums in a time when buying music on the internet wasn’t a thing. Your choices back then were either head to the mall and see what a music store had in stock, or call the number on your screen for the “limited time offer” that never seemed to actually have a limit.

Not only does the group nail the parody aspects of the commercials, but does so with an incredible amount of puns in their song titles. It hits the joy centers of our brains to imagine what songs like “Minister of Snuggle Affairs” and “Umbridge Over Troubled Water” would sound like and a bit scared at the idea of some of the increasingly racy ones toward the end like “Half-Chub Prince.”

The Potter-verse puns are pretty damn fantastic on their own but VStheUniverse went ahead and actually recorded four of their Potter-ized songs with corresponding clips of genre-appropriate music videos.

  • “Mischief Managed” by Pepper Allure
  • “Neville Got Hot” by Myron Wagtail
  • “Meet Me (In The Room Of Requirement) by Circe Lauper
  • “No One Can Severus” by Professor Snape

All four of these tunes can be downloaded from their Bandcamp page.
