Which Character Won the GAME OF THRONES Fantasy Election?

The people of Westeros have spoken, and the results are in for the HBO Game of Thrones summer time election: winter is coming.

Acting King in the North Jon Snow and his running mate and hero of the people Lyanna Mormont are your winners, after garnering 35% of the 1,666,642 total votes cast in what ended up being a surprisingly tight three-candidate race.

We first heard the news of the Snow’s election win at Mashable. It’s a good thing the North remembered to turn out to the ballot boxes, because Jon Snow barely eked out Daenerys Targaryen and her veep Tyrion Lannister, who came up just short with 32% of all votes cast.

However, the biggest surprise of all is that Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger), who ran with Sansa Stark by his side, got 31% of the vote, right in line with the popular Mother of Dragons.

Those are stunning numbers for an evil mastermind and brothel owner who double-crossed Ned Stark (Littlefinger actually led after the first two weeks), but sometimes unworthy and deplorable candidates connect with a certain percentage of the population.

That’s why every vote counts, even if you live in a non-swing kingdom.

One candidate that didn’t connect with voters, though, was Queen Cersei Lannister, who ran with her new Hand of the Queen, Qyburn. The pair managed a sad 2% of the vote. You’d have to imagine that killing hundreds of innocent people and blowing up the Sept of Baelor left a bad taste in many voters’ mouth. Also there’s that whole incest thing. There’s no way to spin incest.

This is now the third time Jon Snow has been chosen for high office (Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, King in the North), so he has the qualifications for office, as well as the temperament. The question he will have to answer now, though: How will he unite a bitterly partisan realm? And also, who will he choose to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat?

He gets to do that now, right?

Who did you want to win? What do you think of these results? Tell us in the comments below.
