When Pills Dissolve it’s Surprisingly Beautiful

It’s often not enough to know what ailment a certain pill will treat; you need to know how long it will take to dissolve in your system. Is it fast acting? Long? Will you get relief for a few hours or all day? But it turns out there’s another question you should answer, one that we have never considered: how beautiful does it look as it dissolves?

I know I’ve never thought of it before (and why would any of us), but after watching this video of pills of various size, color, and purpose dissolving in water, it’s hard not to think about it. Filmed under a macro lens, which offers an extreme close-up view, these pills look like gorgeous terraforming planets, or strangely hypnotic fungi springing to life.

This video comes from the new YouTube channel Macro Lens, dedicated to showing “the hidden beauty of our world,” and it starts with an Advil gel tablet and a dietary supplement before bursting into a montage of other pills, and ending with all of them in one tableau of tablets.

Setting a little video of some pills in water to classical music might seem grandiose, but the song selection feels apropos with the spectacular array of colors and designs that are on display here.

Macro Lens is off to a good start showing the hidden beauty of the world, because who knew treating a headache could produce such stunning images.

How would you describe what a dissolving pill looks like? Tell us in the comments below.
