Lead writer and executive producer Stephen Moffat will be bringing back Alex Kingston to reprise her role as the Doctor’s time traveling lover for her first appearance alongside Peter Capaldi. Last seen in series 7, we think it will be interesting to see the sassy and light-hearted River alongside Capaldi’s grumpy and stern incarnation of the Doctor.
