What Your Appliances Do When You’re Not Around

Why NOT create an orchestra with household appliances?

Like this:

Blödes Orchester from white tube on Vimeo.

Can your blenders and mixers and hair dryers and fans do that? Probably, but it would take a lot of work. Better to let Michael Petermann do it with this aggregation, the “Blödes Orchester” (Stupid Orchestra), although it’s not so much stupid as kind of entertaining, at least for a few moments. You wouldn’t want an entire album of it. It’s “performing” in Hamburg through April 30th, if you’re in the neighborhood. Bring Excedrin.

I dont know if your familiar with John Cage. But he is amazing in far to many ways. I would also say he is the origin of this video. He is probably best known for his composition called 4’33. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSulycqZH-U

They should have called it: Frigidaire’s Sonata in 0100011110001111000 minor.

    Anywho, loved it. Very “Stomp-esce”

  4. Double R says:

The symphony reminded me of Nine Inch Nails for some reason. Although I find this video takes the notion of industrial in a different direction.

  5. Lucy says:

This walks a fine line between genius and OH GOD MAKE IT STOP. The electric razors were my favorite.
