What You Missed By Not Playing MIDDLE-EARTH: SHADOW OF MORDOR

Nothing like taking a stroll down the beautiful wasteland of Mordor. There are a lot of rocks, rubble, and even some Uruks to keep you company. It’s bascally the best vacation spot if you just want to get away from it all. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, which earned the Game of the Year spot in a lot of people’s minds in 2014, impressed the world with its unmatched ability to give the power to the players. This third-person action game from Monolith Productions was the surprise hit that made Lord of the Rings cool again, despite the story not making much sense within the canon. Just in case you missed one of last year’s best experiences, allow us to 100% spoil the adventure for you in our latest episode of our What You Missed By Not Playing series. So, in case you don’t have 15 hours to wait for the pond-deep plot to unfold, feast your eyes on the video above.

The action takes place between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and Talion, our troubled hero, must go on a life-changing adventure in which he is abducted by a ghost and turned into an Uruk/Orc-dominating war machine. Sprinkle in some LOTR lore with a small, obsessed creature just to make it feel authentic.  Fans of the walking simulation films should really enjoy the horde of references spread generously around the world.

Enjoy this quick retelling of 2014’s saddest tale of a fictional character and his ghost best friend. They quest through a dangerous land and wreck everyone with their mind control. With an inevitable sequel on the way, it doesn’t hurt to get caught up without needing to add more to your backlog pile of shame. Sure, the lack of depth may turn some people off, but you can go on a 100-hit combo, which feels pretty awesome. Plus, there are some sweet, loving moments in the video of a few Uruks/Orcs that rival the most touching moments in any film. Shout out to Thakrak the Rhyemer and Tuka the Swift– the whitest Ork in Mordor. You will be fondly remembered.

You can play Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor right now on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC right now. For more great episodes of What You Missed By Not Playing, check out our YouTube channel and keep checking here for future videos.
