What the New STRANGER THINGS Details Mean for Season 2!

Everything is turning upside down this week (get it?) because of Stranger Things. Between the big season 2 trailer premiere during the Super Bowl and the Entertainment Weekly cover story, things are getting even stranger for one of our favorite shows of 2016. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have been sharing some very intriguing details about the new season, and today’s Nerdist News is breaking down all of the Stranger Things scoops!

Join host and Demogorgon-Slayer, Jessica Chobot, as she dives into the latest news from Stranger Things season 2…right after she stops being freaked out by the Hobbit-style hair the kids have this season. Seriously though, that’s a weird style choice, even for the ’80s! First up is the confirmation that Will is the fourth Ghostbuster that we pointed out in our previous trailer breakdown. But just because Will is out of the Upside Down doesn’t mean that he’s free of its influence. In fact, we’re pretty much betting that most of Will’s apocalyptic visions from the Super Bowl ad will eventually come to pass, including a rift between worlds that even the residents of Hawkins, Indiana can’t ignore!

While we expect to get a look at the new girl, Max, in the near future, it’s her step brother, Billy, who may be one of the season’s primary human villains. But what’s an ’80s show without Paul Reiser playing a nefarious role? We now know that he’s playing Dr. Owens, the new man in charge of running the lab that has the portal to the Upside Down, and he’s apparently performing tests on Will. And while Dr. Owens may not be outwardly malevolent, it’s probably a mistake to trust him.

We also have an Everything We Know So Far about Stranger Things Season 2 which you can find right here!
