The Lazarus Effect, the latest scare-fest from Blumhouse Productions, follows a group of researchers led by Frank and his fiancé Zoe who have achieved the unimaginable — bringing the dead back to life. After a successful, yet unsanctioned, trial on a newly deceased animal, the team is ready to unveil their breakthrough to the world. Unfortunately, things go terribly wrong during a last-minute experiment and the team makes the choice to use the serum on one of their own and… well, you can imagine things do not go well.
Now, in this string of clips from the film due out next week, watch as Frank (Duplass) and Zoe (Wilde) debate the mysteries of life, science vs. religion, belief vs. fact, followed by what happens when desperate times call for desperate measures and finally, dealing with the consequences of those actions.
The Lazarus Effect is a blend of psychological terror, science-gone-wrong cautionary tale, and supernatural scares. Wilde gives a strong performance and the supporting cast is energetic in the first horror film directed by documentarian David Gelb and penned by Luke Dawson and upcoming Fantastic Four screenwriter Jeremy Slater.

Mass Effect rip-off? Project Lazarus was a Cerberus project to revive Commander Shepard from the dead in Mass Effect 2.
