What Do the New JUMANJI Leaks and BTS Videos Tell Us About the Plot?

The new Jumanji movie is in production, and we’ve got a lot of questions about what the heck is happening in this non-reboot sequel that shares its name with the beloved original film and the classic book that inspired them both. We want to know about more than just Karen Gillan‘s “child sized” clothing and the fact that the costumes of all of the leading performers make them look like they escaped from a cartoon.

There are a few definite and potential spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned!

Thanks to Nerdist News host and properly dressed jungle explorer, Jessica Chobot, we’ve got some pretty solid theories about the premise of the new Jumanji. And it all starts with the “Jumanji juniors” that Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson recently welcomed to the cast.

Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, and Morgan Turner are the new additions to Jumanji, and apparently the stars as well! The Hollywood Reporter appeared to confirm that Wolff is playing a teenager named Spencer who is also controlling “Dr. Smolder Bravestone,” the character who is portrayed by Johnson. Somehow, the four teens are gonna be sucked into the game world of Jumanji, and forced into the bodies of the previously revealed adult characters from the movie.

It should be noted that Mashable’s Jeff Sneider revealed that scoop a couple of days before THR. But it’s out there now. And since we have a gender imbalance in the character avatars, one of the other male avatars played by Kevin Hart and Jack Black could be controlled by either Iseman or Turner’s characters. Or the film could go for a full gender bend, with Blain’s character taking over the body of Gillen’s Ruby Roundhouse avatar while both Iseman and Turner’s personas inhabit Black’s Professor Shelly Oberon and Hart’s Moose Finbarr. There is a lot of comedic potential in that idea!
