Wes Anderson & Bill Murray Will Reunite for Stop Motion Animation Project

Wes Anderson‘s secretive next project will be stop-motion animation, and Bill Murray will be a part of it. While rumors have been swirling for the last few months that Anderson would return to the format for his next film, very little concrete has been announced about it. That changed when Murray confirmed he would be working on the next film in an interview with The Playlist and simultaneously confirmed all the details we have heard.

“I’m playing a dog. He’s doing another, like a stop motion animated kind of comedy sort of like ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox.’ And it’s a Japanese story and I’m playing a dog. I’m very excited,” he told The Playlist. That’s basically it. That’s all we know about the project. We are not even sure when it might be out for us to see but this particular fan of Fantastic Mr. Fox is excited regardless of the complete lack of details that we know.

Murray’s collaboration history with Anderson is long and storied so it’s not terribly surprising to hear that he’s going to be a part of this newest project on the filmmaker’s docket. From Rushmore to The Royal Tennenbaums to Fantastic Mr. Fox, Murray has played parts big and small, always there in the story, a fulcrum around which plot and storytelling can revolve. Will his involvement in this newest project, about which we still know so very little aside from the central “dog” motif that keeps being thrown about, get you into a seat at the theater? Please tell us in the comments below.
