When the very ground beneath our feet opens up, revealing a portal to the Devil’s lair, there’s only one question to be asked, and it can only be raised by the darkest, most twisted soul among us: how deep does that hole go?

This very serious question is waged by Onyx the Fortuitous in episode four of his Alpha series celebrating all things horror and horrible, Welcome to the Shadow Zone. Along with his friend Jessamyn, also known as Beatrix of the Northwind (a name that is way more intimidating with hand motions), Onyx spends the episode trying to summon the “ancient ones” via a scroll they found belonging to one of the witches of the original Salem Six. Of course, the  summoning process requires three human souls, forcing Onyx to seek help from his mom’s boyfriend Todd. And no one is more evil than Todd.
