Welcome to Nerdist SCIENCE WEEK!

As Nerdist‘s resident sci-fientist (TM), I live every week like it’s science week. But starting today and running all the way until next Sunday, we are kicking off our official Science Week to celebrate the release of my new science show on Alpha, The S.P.A.A.C.E. Program!

The show is like COSMOS had a weird, long-haired baby with Mystery Science Theater 3000. Over the course of 8 episodes, I’ll take my spaceship (really!) and my robot companion (still, really!) and explore the science of fictional worlds you know and love like Tatooine and Krypton. I almost collapsed filming it, and I think you’re really going to like it.

I started working for Nerdist in 2014, and look how far our geeky exploration of science has come:

Now that’s a young and fresh boy. Maybe the freshest.

I’m very proud of everything we’ve been able to science together in that time, so before the The S.P.A.A.C.E. Program drops, Science Week will be re-sharing some of my very favorite articles, like the very real tale of the “Demon Core,” and my favorite episodes of Because Science, like how CatDog poops. It’s going to be all science, all the time…just look for the stamp!

And come Monday, I’ll be doing an AMA on Nerdist‘s Facebook page. Come and ask me anything — personal, professional, weird, whatever! Talk nerdy to me.

If you want to catch the first episode of S.P.A.A.C.E., you can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Alpla right here. (Sign up and you can also get episodes of Because Science two full days before anyone else. If you sign up today, use the promo code SHIPMATES to extend your 30-day free trial to 60 days, so you have plenty of time to check out everything Alpha has to offer. (Promo offer ends Friday, June 30 at 11:59p PDT.)

Here’s to everything science, everything nerd, and to the exploration of all things you thought were too geeky to ever consider with unnatural gusto!
