We Make Neil deGrasse Tyson Defend His Choice of Kirk Over Picard

Last week I got a chance to ask famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson about possibly the first science talk show, which he will be hosting for National Geographic Channel. But being an avid Star Talk listener myself, I couldn’t help but ask him to defend his position on a topic more controversial than what dark matter really is: Kirk or Picard?

It turns out that the scientist just needs a captain that can, well, be a badass.

    Please fix the table, the downstage edge is full of scratches, has a white paint smudge, and is partial glass and mat.  

  3. Nerd alert: the ST/TOS episode NDT cites is “The Corbomite Maneuver”. No Klingons involved. One of my favorite episodes. Featured a young Clint Howard at the end. 🙂
