Watch This Stunning Demonstration of a Spinning Pixel Staff

Okay, I know that modern technology has been reaching crazy new heights and everything, but…pixel staff y’all. A Technologies has introduced the Graphic Staff de Luxe 72, which has the ability to display pictures in a resolution of 72 x 240 pixels when spun (thanks to the persistence of vision). It basically means that you need to stop what you’re doing and watch the short video above. Even if you think you’re not “into pixels,” or whatever, it doesn’t matter. This is essential viewing.

The graphic staff was constructed to display any picture in the highest detail and resolution, so naturally it can display up to 8,000 pictures stored in memory, utilizing a full range of 16 million colors. As you can see in the demonstration, this is a visually and technically mind-blowing piece of equipment. A Technologies have been constructing graphic pixel staffs since 2007, and it’s no secret that this latest offering boasts the highest resolution, the biggest memory, and the best software so far. What isn’t known, however, is whether or not you must dress like a magician’s apprentice.

According to the website, the graphic staff is the best choice for performers looking for “maximum synchronisation,” whatever that may be. It works perfectly with the addition of music, as images can be timed to specific cues. Amazing, right? I sort of want to try performance art, just to hold one of these.

What do you think of the Graphic Staff de Luxe 72? Impressed? Startled? Speechless? Tell us all your thoughts in the comments below.
