Having super human powers doesn’t automatically mean you make big bucks. So, what do you do if you’re a superhero who can’t quite pay the rent? Geek & Sundry‘s new original series Caper explores that dilemma. The comedy follows a band of four superheroes who have to consider committing a crime so they can afford to keep doing good.
The first trailer shows the cast in the preliminary stages of planning a heist and determining basic rules – if they’re going to break the law, they’re going to do it with boundaries. The primary cast is full of familiar faces: you’ll see Abby Miller (Justified), Beth Riesgraf (Leverage), Hartley Sawyer (Glory Daze), and Harry Shum, Jr. (Glee). Caper combines live action with motion comics for an interesting look. From the press release:
“CAPER is an original superhero comedy that puts the “crime” back in crime fighting. When our lovable band of misfits Penny, Dagr, Alexia and Luke realize their acts of heroism won’t cover rent, they go undercover to plan the ultimate heist. Who says crime doesn’t pay? Caper is a fun and colorful comedy about friendship, community, and what it takes to be a hero.”
Caper was co-created by Amy Berg and Mike Sizemore and is directed by Donald Murphy. It’s the first of Geek & Sundry’s original series line-up for 2014. Will you be watching Caper?
Hartley Sawyer was in Nerdist’s “Blade Runner Holiday Special”!

As a comedy that trailer does nothing for it. I don’t think I even had an internal chuckle during it.
