Now this is more like it! While it was nice to see Fox Mulder and Dana Scully team up again on screen in the last The X-Files movie, there’s really no X-Files like TV X-Files. So get ready to feast your eyes on the latest footage we’ve seen of our two favorite FBI agents in their return to the medium from whence they came. That’s right, Fox’s six-episode event series, which also sees the return of the show’s creator Chris Carter, premieres on January 24, 2016; and during tonight’s episode of Wayward Pines, fans were treated to their first look at what’s to come. As one might expect, the world is as foreboding as ever for Mulder and Scully, and we wouldn’t have it any other way…

That theme! The flashlights! Those looks of world-weary skepticism! And Scully’s hair is as flaming red as ever! The best show of the nineties looks like it’s indeed coming back to us the way we’ve always wanted it to. But what’s up with Mulder’s I Want to Believe poster lying trampled on the floor? Is this a sign of impending doom for our heroes or merely a look back at what was before it is built anew? Let the theories and fan speculation begin, my fellow X-Philes.
