Watch THE FORCE AWAKENS Cast Hum STAR WARS Songs

If you’re like me you’ve probably found yourself constantly humming the Star Wars theme song a lot lately—as in all day, every day. It’s hard not to, not when there’s a commercial airing for The Force Awakens every thirty seconds, or another ad with a Star Wars product tie-in. Well, at least we haven’t been asked to hum it on demand on camera on one of the biggest nights of our lives.

At Monday night’s world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Variety asked some of the members of the cast if they could hum a few bars of their favorite John Williams song from the galaxy far, far away. And hum they did. Major points (points!) to Daisy Ridley for not just going with the easiest option, though Oscar Isaac deserves recognition for trying to keep the Star Wars/Superman/Indiana Jones themes straight, a challenge we’ve all failed at some point.

Gwendoline Christie‘s was technically more of a “horn” rendition than a humming one, but we aren’t complaining since it was so delightful.

Although it was fun to see the new cast members take part, the real highlight was watching a seasoned veteran get out of having to do it entirely. Frank Oz, the man responsible for bringing Yoda to life, told a funny story about a woman that confused him with John Williams at a previous Star Wars premiere. We’ll gladly trade a few seconds of humming for a good story.

Just remember one thing if you want to get the Star Wars theme right: “There’s a lot of ‘dun-dun-dun-duns,’ that’s my point,” said Isaac.
