Watch the First Trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 2

President Snow has controlled Panem for long enough. He’s taken a step too far–several of them, actually–and with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) to lead the way, the citizens are done following Snow’s rules. The first three films of The Hunger Games story have shown the world start to change. Rebellion has been present in certain pockets of certain Districts for a while, but the actions of Katniss in the 74th Hunger Games created the spark needed to light a fire. That fire continues, and it’s burning a path to President Snow’s doorstep in Mockingjay – Part 2. The first trailer for the upcoming film is here, and it has a different tone–it’s the tiniest bit optimistic.

Even though the trailer starts with Katniss saying, “Nothing good is safe,” a sense of hope hangs in the air. Citizens seem determined and committed to the fight. Sure, there are tears and life-threatening challenges and taunts from President Snow, but overall? I walk away with the feeling that the rebellion will prevail.

The first Mockingjay – Part 2 trailer doesn’t seem to spoil any big reveals. Katniss and a team from District 13 are taking the battle to the streets of the Capitol, but that’s not terribly unexpected. We got a glimpse at what appears to be the wedding of Finnick and Annie (and notice it was being filmed by Cressida and will likely be used in propaganda videos). And hey, did you catch the first look at Gwendoline Christie as Commander Lyme? There are plenty of teases, but the almost two minute look doesn’t give away the whole story.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 will be in theaters on November 20.

Be sure to head to the comments and let me know your thoughts on the first look at the film.
