Watch The First Four Minutes Of The Season Premiere Of THE WALKING DEAD

The long wait is finally over, and tonight we find out the fate of Rick and his crew, last seen trapped in a train car in what they thought was the seemingly safe haven of Terminus, that turned out to be not so safe after all and filled with a bunch of crazy people (including Tasha Yar from Star Trek: The Next Generation??) which of course it is because this is The Walking Dead.

Tonight’s season opener of The Walking Dead is written by the show’s (latest) executive producer Scott M. Gimple, and directed by special effects wizard-turned director Greg Nicotero. Season five adds last year’s newbies Michael Cudlitz (Sgt. Abraham Ford), Josh McDermitt (Dr. Eugene Porter), Christian Serratos (Rosita Espinosa), Alanna Masterson (Tara Chambler), and Andrew J. West (Gareth) as series regulars, along with Seth Gilliam as Father Gabriel Stokes, a character fans of Robert Kirkman’s original comics will be familiar with. Whether or not they all make it to season six, well…with this show, the odds aren’t great.

The show premieres at 9 P.M. Eastern time on AMC on Sunday, October 12th (hey, that’s today!) followed of course by Chris Hardwick on The Talking Dead’s season premiere. But if you just can’t wait till later this evening and need to get your zombie apocalypse fix right now, then we here at Nerdist are happy to provide you with the first four minutes of the fifth season premiere of The Walking Dead, which made its debut at New York Comic Con, and which you can now see in the video below.
