Watch the Cast of STRANGER THINGS React to Toys from the 80s and 90s

From walkie-talkies to Dungeons & Dragons, the main characters from Stranger Things are very in touch with gadgets and games from 1983, but how true is that of the actors who play them in real life? It turns out they have some learning to do, which is fair considering they’re all in their early teens. Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Caleb McLaughin (Lucas), and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) sat down with BuzzFeed and were charmingly baffled by some of the toys from the 80s and 90s presented to them.

It took the crew a minute to figure out that Furby isn’t from the film Gremlins, although Matarazzo had it right from the start despite his castmates’ skepticism. Brown lost her cool for a minute when trying Pop Rocks for the first time, although we can’t blame her because it’s super freaky if you’ve never had them before. Maybe the candy didn’t take off in the UK like it did over here.

While at the BuzzFeed offices, the trio also decorated waffles and answered questions about working on the show. Matarazzo said it didn’t take long for the cast to warm up to each other: “When we started shooting, we just started having a great time on camera, and we just had fun and became friends right away, you know?” Speaking of Matarazzo, McLaughlin attested that he made things kind of difficult on set (in a fun way) by making everybody laugh during serious scenes.

Watch the Stranger Things kids react to retro stuff above, and don’t miss everything we know about season two so far.
