Bone Tomahawkâthe much buzzed about feature film debut from screenwriter and novelist S. Craig Zahlerâis in select theaters and on VOD today. While we were down in Austin for Fantastic Fest we had a chance to speak with Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, and Richard Jenkins about their roles in the movie and the experience of making the film–screen legend Kurt Russell had to skip the festival at the last minute due to a non-life threatening injury. Get well soon, Kurt!
For a movie that is probably best known for featuring some pretty vicious cannibals, I was surprised to discover while watching the film that it was actually a very traditional Western in many ways, with all of the archetypes being represented: Russell plays the Sheriff, Fox plays the gunslinger, Wilson plays the cowboy, and Jenkins plays the deputy. When we sat down with the cast we were interested to learn what inspired each of their characters and what prompted them to sign up for such a physically challenging and fast production.
And, of course, we had to ask about those incredible and totally messed up cannibals. Because they’re pretty twisted, you guys! Watch our interview with the guys above and check out our review of the movie right here.
Bone Tomahawk, starring Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, and Richard Jenkins, is in select theaters and on VOD now.
