Kurt Russell Takes on the Wild West and Cannibals in BONE TOMAHAWK

It seems the western genre, and its fancy facial hair styles, really agree with Kurt Russell. Fans will always remember his turn as Wyatt Earp in Tombstone, and Tarantino has cast him as one of the main characters in his Hateful Eight film coming out later this year, but that will be his second western to hit theaters in 2015. On October 23rd, Russell will star in Bone Tomahawk, a genre-bending western that also marks the debut of newcomer S. Craig Zahler.

The film follows the story of Franklin Hunt, a town sheriff player by Russell, who sets out to rescue the wife of a local man after she is abducted by natives. What Hunt and his rescue party don’t know, though, is just want kind of twisted battle for survival they are getting themselves into when the tribe they are hunting is actually a group of cannibals. Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, David Arquette, and Richard Jenkins also star in the film that had its premiere at Fantastic Fest earlier in the week where it was considered a massive crowd-pleaser and received high praise. The trailer for the film has also made its way online and can be viewed below, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and be sure to check out the film when it comes to theaters, iTunes, and VOD on October 23rd. Just in time for a western-themed Halloween screening, and trust me when I say that is the perfect idea for viewing the film.
