Watch 13 Minutes of RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER Gameplay

Didn’t make it out to Cologne for Gamescom last week? Itching for more Lara Croft? Microsoft has your back. The mega-company in charge of marketing Lara’s latest adventure has decided to release the demo of Rise of the Tomb Raider that was exclusively shown at Gamescom. The riveting 13 minute demo consists of the master tomb raider doing what she does best: climbing crumbling landscapes, kicking some real tail, and screaming–er, moaning– her way through. Peep the nail-biting footage above.

Starting off in Syria’s northwest boarder, Lara must survive a car accident, survive some unfortunate tumbles, and tether herself to some rocks while she attempts to climb to safety. Later in the demo, we get more of what fans want: cover shooting action, environmental puzzle solving, and gorgeous scenery. This game seriously boast some impressive visuals. It also acts as a nice contrast to the snowy mountain climbing sequence shown at E3.

More importantly, this video features some actual tomb raiding, which some would argue the last game lacked. Whether you agree with this criticism or not, it looks like fewer folks should have that issue in the sequel. Everything about this title looks top notch and it may ultimately be a great nab for Microsoft. Why they would then choose to release it on the same day as Fallout 4, however, is beyond me. There is no way that date provides any sort of advantage.

Other than that minor concern, the game seems to be in great shape. What do you think about all the gameplay footage of the game? Does it excite you? Will you be purchasing both Rise of the Tomb Raider and Fallout 4 on launch? Let us know in the comments section below.
