Watch Tatiana Maslany Play Along in Son Lux’s New Video for ‘You Don’t Know Me’

Okay, so I know this isn’t an episode of BBC America’s Orphan Black, but I’ll be damned if Tatiana Maslany isn’t bringing a little bit of Alison and Helena to her performance in Son Lux’s latest single-slash-video, “You Don’t Know Me”. The second off their latest album, Bones (which is very, very good, by the way), the tune also stars Looper actor Noah Segan as a seemingly uninterested, self-involved husband-type.

Taking place in a home built for that particular sort of disassociated coupled-up living monotony that wrecks relationships, Maslany plays into the song’s lyrical dissatisfaction with a sort of knowing aplomb. “You see my face in the stars … You write my name on your walls … I feel you tracing my scars / But you don’t know me / You don’t know me at all.” Sitting there as Son Lux’s plucky, electric orchestration playfully bats around the lyrical ideas, Maslany’s ability to channel the emotional resonance of what is at the tune’s heart is evident—even as the video’s content gets creepier and weirder.

…Because what is that wedding dress and facepainting scene, right? Unsettling and creepy, Maslany looks like a brunette Helena ushering in a cult of her own design. Which is to say: sign us the eff up.

Bones was released on June 23, 2015, so hop over to Spotify or something to take a listen (we promise you won’t regret it).

How do you think the other clones would’ve fared in this video? Let us hear your theories and/or music video treatments in the comments.
