Has it really been 40 years since the very first Star Wars movie first blew the world away? Evidently, yes, which means there’s only one thing to do: get everybody together in a convention center in Orlando and party our Corellian blood striped-pants off!
At 11am ET/8pm PT, Star Wars Celebration kicks off with a panel celebrating the past 40 years of Star Wars stories. We can’t help you with the FOMO you’re currently experiencing by not being there yourself, but don’t worry, fellow nerf herders–you can still watch the panel live from the comfort of your own home right here:
Hosted by Warwick Davis (a.k.a. Wicket the Ewok himself), this panel will reportedly feature “some of the saga’s brightest stars,” including Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill, and his baby prequel Anakin dad Hayden Christensen. The scuttlebutt around the cantina is that Ewan McGregor might also make an appearance. Come on, Disney, when are you gonna give this poor man an Obi Wan Kenobi spin-off?
Of course, that’s not all. We know that the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer will finally, finally be released sometime during the convention this weekend. Wouldn’t a star-studded panel about the lasting legacy of the franchise be the perfect time to do it? And, of course, there might also be other surprises, so keep your eyes peeled and your attention rapt when the live stream starts!
In the meantime, share with us your favorite story of Star Wars fandom in the comments below, and maybe we’ll all be able to distract ourselves from counting down the seconds until this shindig gets underway!
