Watch PREACHER’S First Five Minutes Or Regret Your Whole Life

If you do one, single, solitary thing today, let it be watching these first five minutes of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s adaptation of Preacher for AMC. Trust us when we say—no hyperbole—that the men have managed to do the seemingly impossible and bring the dark and deliciously deviant work of Garth Ennis to life and, in the process, created one of the best pilots we’ve seen in a long time. But also be aware that there’s no going back—once you see this, you’re sure to be hooked (if a little bit confused if you have no idea what Preacher is all about).

Naturally, there are potential spoilers in these first five (OK, four and some change) minutes, so if you’re wary of that heading into the series’ premiere (May 22nd at 10PM) just turn away now.

OK, for the rest of you, let’s get into it. First off: how rad does Dominic Cooper look as Rev. Jesse Custer? And that set: amazing, right? (Which reminds us: you’re going to want to keep an eye out for our set visit report!) Don’t even get us started on the music, either—no spoilers, but the first four episodes are chockablock with killer tunes that help set the scene for incredible fights, audacious action, and crazier characters than you’ve seen on TV in awhile. Just wait until you meet Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy (Joe Gilgun), you guys. By the word of God, this shit is magic brought to us by a higher power and for that we’re eternally grateful.

Needless to say, we’re losing our ever-loving gourds over Preacher — are you looking forward to its Sunday night premiere? Let us know in the comments below!

And be sure to check out Dan Casey’s interview with the cast from SXSW:
