Watch Jim Carrey Rock Out with Alice Cooper

It’s been over 20 years since Jim Carrey belted out a little Jefferson Airplane in The Cable Guy, but just over a week ago, Carrey reminded us that he’s still a huge fan of fiery rock. At a New Year’s Eve event, Carrey teamed up with the iconic Alice Cooper for an unexpected musical performance to rock in 2017.

Via Vulture, two videos of Carrey’s performance with Cooper were posted online by YouTube user Howard Dinits. The event took place at Cooper’s annual New Year’s Eve benefit for the Maui Food Bank. Much to the surprise of the audience, Carrey joined Cooper on stage while wearing Cooper’s signature eye makeup before joining Cooper in a rendition of one of his most famous songs: “No More Mister Nice Guy.” It was a very fun performance, although it appears that Carrey’s mic didn’t always pick up his voice. However, we enjoyed it when the mic actually worked.

If that wasn’t enough for the crowd of New Year’s Eve revelers, Cooper and Carrey had one more holiday treat for them. The duo remained on stage for a final song together, as they sang “School’s Out.” Considering the way that 2016 played out, this seemed like a fitting way to close the door on that year. Then Cooper and Carrey invited the audience to sing along as they briefly sang a verse from Pink Floyd‘s “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2.”

What did you think of Carrey and Cooper’s impromptu mini-concert? And would you like to see them team up again? Sing us your thoughts in the comment section below!
