Watch Jerry Seinfeld Take Julia Louis-Dreyfus Out in James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 in COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE

There are very few things in this world I love more than James Bond’s 1964 silver birch Aston Martin DB5 (Sean Connery’s Goldfinger car) and actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The season 6 premiere of Jerry Seinfeld’s online series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has both.

The DB5 has been called “The Most Famous Car in the World,” and with good reason. When modified for Her Majesty’s Secret Service by MI6 and Q (in reality the late special effects master John Stears), it offered such iconic features as tire slashers, a revolving license plate, an oil slick spray, and an ejector seat — all of which proved useful to 007 when he made the world safe for Bond Girls and medium-dry vodka martinis. But even without its customizations, the DB5 is the epitome of mid-twentieth century automotive luxury, a shining vision of sophistication that to this day has never been equaled. In short, it’s the most stylish car to emerge from the most stylish country on Earth in its most stylish decade.

So, it’s no wonder that this is the car Seinfeld has chosen to take out his longtime friend and colleague, who helped make their ’90s sitcom one of the finest in TV history. Of course, Dreyfus has since gone on to become perhaps the most acclaimed comic actress of her time, one whom Seinfeld rightly refers to as “The James Bond of Comedy.” She’s currently leading the multi-Emmy-winning Veep through its fourth season on HBO, each episode of which is reviewed in our weekly Veep-Cap.

You can watch this heartfelt Seinfeld reunion above, or go to the Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee website (where you can find every episode of the online series’ first five seasons) for the full HD experience. In either case, let us know in the comments if you’re left shaken and stirred.
