Watch Jeff Goldblum Improvise a Jazz Concert for Charity

Are you physically and psychologically prepared to love Jeff Goldblum more than you already do? Ready yourself. The actor/icon/meme/myth, who is reprising his role in the forthcoming Independence Day: Resurgence, just played an entire jazz concert in Los Angeles for charity *swoons and dies*.

As Goldblum explains in the lovely Facebook Live video below, the concert, which incorporates Independence Day skits and trivia, launched Omaze’s current Goldblum-filled campaign, whose proceeds go to support Oceana and Conservation International. Because if aliens aren’t responsible for the mass of destruction of earth, we all have a pretty good guess of who will be. Plus, if you win the contest, you could spend some one-on-one time with the King Jeffy and witness a VIP advanced screening of the new Independence Day. Pretty snazzy, eh?

I assure you, the above performance is an hour and a half of worthwhile entertainment that you should watch in its entirety, and if you are visiting or live in Los Angeles, make a point to see Goldblum’s live show on select Wednesday evenings at the Rockwell in Los Feliz. My evidence? Look how happy the entire Nerdist editorial staff was after a night with the bless-ed ‘Blum, praise be he. Those smiles of unbridled joy remained on our faces for a solid 72 hours after this photo was taken.

So let’s return the favor and make him smile by checking out Omaze’s campaign. Long live earth; long live Jeff Goldblum.

Hey you, wanna see Jeffy G sing a fake theme song for Independence Day?

Matt Grosinger is the music editor of Nerdist and has seen DJ Jazzy Jeff (Goldblum) perform jazz twice and needs to go back for more.
