Watch How The Trisaber Has Changed Modern Lightsaber Battles

The trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens caused a lot of buzz. We had new characters and scenes to tear apart and analyze, but nothing in the 88 seconds had quite the effect of the trisaber. That lightsaber with a cross-guard stirred up controversy among fans. We looked at the pros and cons of using such a weapon, but regardless of the science involved, you have to admit it looks awesome. The design has perhaps changed the lightsaber landscape forever. Michael, better known as Mr.TVCow imagined what a modern lightsaber battle would be like. Watch:

My first takeaway is boy, this Jedi who isn’t supposed to have attachments is awfully protective of his Loot Crate box. Depending on what the contents are though, I can see why he’s so intent to keep it to himself. Maybe he has a special Loot Crate with blueprints for a powerful battle station (hey, they built two Death Stars – would anyone be surprised if there’s a third?). When faced with the Sith’s fancier trisaber though, the Jedi has to improvise and turn is lightsaber into anything and everything.

Mr.TVCow has basically made a video version of the memes that swept across the Internet after The Force Awakens teaser dropped. The lightsaber has essentially become a Swiss army knife that can turn into anything and everything. Just imagine if the hero lightsabers in Episode VII are also modified. Fandom will lose its mind. But really, I hope we see lightsaber wielders come to the same conclusion that the Sith did in this video: going old school is the best way to go.
